Your Bottled Water is Contaminated with Microplastic!

Bottled water is drinking water. It may be carbonated or not. A major study conducted across nine countries found that bottled water from 92% of the world's leading brands was contaminated with microplastic particles, with health concerns.
Some plastic bottles contain Bishenol A or BPA which poses a potential health threat. Plastic bottles which contain polyethylene terephthalate and known as soft plastic contain BPA. Many countries like Japan has already banned use of plastic with BPA. BPA is known to cause complications for pregnant women and it increases the chances to suffer with diabetes. According to a research 13 percent of all bottles were also found infected with bacteria.
The Natural Resources Defense Council of Sierra Club and World Wildlife Fund have urged their supporters to consume less bottled water. They typically argue that the bottled water is no better than tap water and it just pollutes our environment with disposable plastics bottles.
The world's leading brands of bottled water are contaminated with tiny plastic particles that are likely to leak during the packaging process. WHO said it would consider potential risks after the nonprofit team said that more than 90% of the bottled water purchased in nine countries were contaminated. The best brands of bottled water, including Bisleri, contain tiny plastic particles.
The World Health Organization(WHO) announced that it will consider the potential risks of using plastic in drinking water. Analysis of 259 bottles of 11 brands and 19 places in nine countries, including India, found an average of 325 plastic particles for each liter of water sold.
There are some Famous brands of bottled water are Aqua, Aquafina, Bisleri, Dasani, Epura, and Evian. Polypropylene was the most common type of plastic fragment found, followed by the nylon and polyethylene terephthalate, which is used to make bottle caps. In addition to India, the bottles analysed were purchased from the United States, China, Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, Lebanon, Kenya, and Thailand.
A person who drinks a liter of bottled water in per day can consume tens thousands of microplastic particles each year. According to Orb Media's results that "How this can affect your health and the health of your family is still a mystery,". Bottled water is comprehensively regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a packaged food product, in India BIS certification is must for packaged water.
The bottled water industry in India witnessed a boom in the 1990s shortly after Bisleri launched her packaged drinking water in the country. This package of bottled drinking water was sold by a surge in advertising by the industry players that "bottled water was pure and healthy".
Bottled water is bought for many different reasons including taste, convenience, poor tap water quality and safety concerns, health concerns and as a substitute for sugary drinks. In some cases, it can be shown that bottled water actually is tap's water. In the USA, bottled water that comes from municipal suppliers must be clearly labeled as such unless it has been sufficiently processed to be labeled as “distilled” or “purified”.
