One of the major problems that bother the farmers is the pest problem. They infest the crops, reduce the overall production and reduce yields over the period of the years. Mealybugs, spider mites, and other pests are removed by the use of pesticides. However, the commercial pesticides are detrimental to the health of the producers as well as the consumers as they impact the health through accumulation in the food chain and also cause environmental pollution such as pollution of water bodies through the agricultural run-off. 


The artificial pesticides are being replaced by organic fertilizers that add nutrients back to the soil instead of degrading the soil and making it unfit for cultivation.

Organic products and pesticides are nature-friendly and have least side effects. Organic pesticides then those are: very safe to use, least pollutant to soil and water, save energy, support economy, help in creating food which is healthy to consume.


Biological control using natural predators or parasites (Microbial)

LadyBugs, predatory mites are pets that are used in agricultural farms so as to do away with unwanted pest problems. A study has found that fields, where pests were used in order to eliminate pests, showed the significant increase in the crop yield than agricultural fields. These pests destroy the larvae of the unwanted pests thereby not allowing them to grow and further reproduce. 


Some beneficial insects which prey on harmful insects or their larvae are Brachonids, Lacewings, Hover-flies and Praying Mantis. There are some nematodes also which are effective against cutworms and works against beetles and root weevils larvae.


Use Neem as a Natural Pesticide

Neem is highly used as pesticides for warding off the pests and preventing the destruction of crops. Neem spray is a very highly used in plants to do away with harmful pests and since it is organic, it does not affect the plants or the soil. Neem poses no harm to animals, beneficial insects and people around, they are biodegradable and also they appear unlikely to quickly lose their potency to a buildup of genetic resistance in pests.


Citrus Oil and Cayenne can Repel Insects

To get rid of insects you don't always need poisons, sometimes oils will do. You will surprise to know that ants and some inspect dislike cayenne pepper, citrus, citrus oil, lemon juice, cloves, cinnamon, coffee grounds, fresh garlic. This pesticide is effective for the elimination of ants. When sprayed on the problematic areas, it helps to prevent ants in the affected areas.

This is one of the most commonly employed means for reduction of pests from agricultural produce. Just as manure is used in the soil so as to give back to it essential nutrients, cow urine is fermented, mixed with Neem leaves and sprayed on the crops. It is a powerful natural pesticide. Cattle urine is one of the most powerful natural pesticide and the good alternative to chemical pesticides. 


It has also been concluded that presence of Sulphur, Potassium, Zinc, Iron, and copper causes resistance to the disease on application to the foliage of plants.


A Garlic Spray for Garden Pests

This is a commonly used organic pesticide that kills pests and prevents decay of soil and plants. This spray once prepared, can be stored for over two weeks. its pungent odor simply makes the plants undesirable as a place to eat or lay eggs. Spray any plants, flowers, fruits, vegetables or herbs with your garlic spray to repel pests.


Use Chrysanthemums For Natural Pest Control

The flower of the plant is called pyrethrum. This invades the nervous system of insects and renders them unable to move. Even neem oil can be added in order to increase its effectiveness. Pyrethrin is quickly becoming the pest control of choice because it’s biodegradable and breaks down with exposure to light and oxygen.


Eucalyptus essential oil as a natural pesticide

One alternative to pesticides is using eucalyptus oil to eliminate or repel pests from the garden. This is a great pesticide for eliminating bees and wasps and works very fast to show effective results. The use of eucalyptus oil as a natural pesticide is of immense significance in view of the environmental and toxicological implications.

When applied to the plants, this mixture does wonders to remove the remove pests from the crops. Organic pesticides are not only environmentally friendly but they are beneficial for the farmer as he can easily convert the animal and human wastes into compost and bio-manure which can be added to the soil to increase its productivity. This method proves cost-effective and easy for the farmer. 


Along with this neem, garlic, salt insecticides we can also use homemade soap insecticides, chile pepper insecticides, and tomato leaf sprays for the elimination of pests from foliage. An abundance of microbes, healthy nutrients, and beneficial plants should also be added to the crops besides effective pest reduction as the overall health and quality of the be maintained through nutrient replenishing.
